62 Chinese Military Aircraft, 6 PLAN Vessels Spotted Around Taiwan July 5th, 2024

Of the aircraft spotted there were fighter aircraft, drones, and helicopters, with 36 aircraft being spotted initially and then another 26 spotted after that.

TAIPEI - According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense 62 Chinese military aircraft and 6 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels were spotted around the island of Taiwan on July 5th, 2024. The number of Chinese military aircraft spotted around the island today is greatly heightened.

Of the aircraft spotted there were fighter aircraft, drones, and helicopters, with 36 aircraft being spotted initially and then another 26 spotted after that.

35 of the initially spotted aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait’s median line and entered the island's northern, central, southwestern, and southeastern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). Later, 26 more military aircraft were spotted around the island, 20 of which crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered into the island's northern, central, and southern parts of its ADIZ.
