EASTERN EUROPE - On February 1 Polish air defense systems identified balloon-like objects crossing from Belarus during the night of January 31 to February 1, resulting in temporary airspace closures over the Podlaskie region.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces tracked the objects, which authorities linked to ongoing hybrid operations potentially for smuggling or intelligence purposes.
