Incident: The Portuguese-flagged MSC Aries was reported to have been "seized by regional authorities" according to a report by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) which reported a boarding incident at the location, and Iranian state-run news reported Iran’s IRGC had seized a vessel in the same region.

The UKMTO advises vessels in the region to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.

The last incident report by U.S. Central Command was released on April 12th, 2024 regarding incidents that occurred on April 11th, 2024.
