SOUTHEAST ASIA — On July 24, 2025, armed clashes occurred along the border between Cambodia and Thailand in multiple provinces, including Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, and Buriram.
Both sides reported movements near Ta Muen Thom Temple, leading to exchanges of fire involving small arms and heavy weapons. Thai sources indicated artillery and airstrikes in response, with Cambodian military assets destroyed.
Civilian areas were affected, resulting in injuries and one fatality on the Thai side. Both governments accused the other of initiating the hostilities, with prior incidents reported since May 2025.
