CENTCOM: B-2 Stealth Bombers Strike 90 Military Targets on Iran's Kharg Island as Tehran Retaliates Against UAE Oil Infrastructure
CENTCOM confirmed that oil infrastructure on the island was preserved.
MIDDLE EAST / PERSIAN GULF — U.S. Central Command executed a large-scale precision strike against more than 90 Iranian military targets on Kharg Island overnight on March 13 to 14, destroying naval mine storage facilities, missile storage bunkers, and multiple additional military sites.
CENTCOM confirmed that oil infrastructure on the island was preserved. Kharg Island processes approximately 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports.
President Trump characterized the operation as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East” and stated the U.S. had “totally obliterated every military target in Iran’s crown jewel.”
Trump added a direct warning: should Iran “or anyone else do anything to interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision” not to strike the oil infrastructure.
