U.S. Central Command: On Jan. 2, at approximately 9:30 p.m. (Sanaa time), Iranian-backed Houthis fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen into the Southern Red Sea.

Merchant Vessel Reports Explosions 1-3 Nautical Miles From Location, 33NM From Assab, Eritrea

ASSAB, ERITREA - An "attacked" incident was reported 33 nautical miles east of Assab, Eritrea, according to the United Kingdom Trade Operations (UKMTO). Another incident was reported 1 to 5 nautical miles from a merchant vessel in the Bab El Mandeb 33 nautical miles east of Assab, Eritrea.
