TAIPEI - According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense 22 Chinese military aircraft and 4 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels were spotted around the island of Taiwan on December 29th, 2023. The number of military aircraft spotted is highly elevated today.
Of the military aircraft spotted there were six J-10 fighter jets, two SU-30 multirole aircraft, two J-11 fighter jets, one BZK-005 reconnaissance (RECCE) UAV drone, and one Y-8 electronic warfare (EW) aircraft, all 12 of which crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait or entered the island's north, central, and southwestern air defense identification zone (ADIZ).
