Chinese Military Aircraft & PLAN Vessels Spotted Around Taiwan June 21st, 2023

Taiwan tasked CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems in order to respond to the Chinese activities around the island.

19 Chinese military aircraft and 5 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels were spotted around the island of Taiwan on June 21st, 2023 according to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense. 

Of the military aircraft spotted, one Y-8 antisubmarine warfare (ASW) aircraft and one Y-8 electronic warfare (EW) plane flew into Taiwan's southwestern air defense identification zone (ADIZ).
