South Korean media reported that the South Korean Defense Ministry was expecting North Korea to launch medium and long-range ballistic missiles some time this month.

SEOUL - The South Korean military has reported that North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile toward the East Sea. The Japanese Self-Defense forces also reported, “A possible ballistic missile was launched from North Korea”.
South Korean media is reporting that the South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik stated during an interview that North Korea could test-fire intermediate-range solid-fuel ballistic missiles sometime this month, and may also launch a long-range missile "at normal angles".
According to South Korean media, North Korea has claimed it was a solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missile that was fired.
