DOD Airlifts 54,000 Pounds of UN Humanitarian Aid For Gaza

The aid was transported via Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft and included vitally needed medical supplies, warm clothing, food, and nutrition assistance.

Department of Defense: Today, the United States airlifted more than 54,000 pounds of United Nations humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said at a Pentagon news conference. This is in addition to the over 500,000 pounds of food assistance delivered by the US last week.

Temporary Israel/Hamas Ceasefire Reaches Fifth Day, US Holds Talks For Extension, Sends Supplies To Gaza

ISRAEL/GAZA - As the temporary ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization reaches its fifth day, CIA Director William J. Burns has traveled to Qatar for talks to extend the temporary ceasefire, and to reach a deal for additional exchanges of hostages held by Hamas for prisoners held in Israel. US Central Command ships humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The aid includes vitally needed medical supplies, warm clothing, food, and nutrition assistance. At the request of the U.S. Agency for International Development, the supplies were transported via Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft and arrived in Al-Arish, Egypt, where they will be transported via ground transportation to Gaza and distributed by U.N. agencies, Ryder said.

Additional Flights Will Be Carried Out In The Coming Days:
