DoD: Prigozhin Assessed To Have Died In The Plane Crash Yesterday
DoD: Media reports that the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile are "inaccurate", have no information that suggests it was a surface-to-air missile.
WASHINGTON - Department of Defense Spokesperson Brigadier General Pat Ryder said during a press briefing that the DoD's initial assessment "based on a variety of factors" is that Wagner leader Evgeny Prigozhin was likely killed in the plane crash.
He also said that media reports that the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile are "inaccurate", and that they have no information that suggests it was a surface-to-air missile, and said the Department of Defense is continuing to assess the situation.
