US Drone Strike Targets Vehicle In Baghdad, Iraq, CENTCOM Releases Statement
Initial reports state that additional people were also killed in the strike on the vehicle.
BAGHDAD - A drone has targeted a vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq, and killed a Kataib Hezbollah Commander of militia suspected of being responsible for carrying out the drone attack on the Tower 22 base where three U.S. service members were killed.
Update: U.S. Central Command has now released a statement on the strike, but but only acknowledged killing one "Kata'ib Hezbollah commander responsible for directly planning and participating in attacks on U.S. forces in the region".
The commander who was killed has been identified as Abu Baqir al-Saadi, who was a senior commander in the Kataib Hezbollah.
