New Updates: Explosion In Arlington, Virginia After Suspect Discharged Flare Gun
Arlington Police Department: "An explosion occurred at the residence and officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the explosion".
ARLINGTON, Va. - Officers are investigating an explosion that occurred in Arlington, Virginia after a suspect discharged several rounds from inside his home.
Videos on social media that are alleged to be related to this incident show an explosion taking out an entire home. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) released the following photo of the scene:

New Updates And Video (Posted In The Paid Section): The Arlington County Police Department, in cooperation with the Northern Virginia Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), the Arlington County Fire Department and our federal law enforcement partners continue to investigate a home explosion in the 800 block of N. Burlington Street which occurred on the evening of December 4, 2023.
Human remains have been located at the scene which are presumed to be the suspect.
Arlington County Police Department initially released a statement, along with an article. The statement said, "ACPD’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating a shots fired incident which occurred in the Green Valley neighborhood on the afternoon of 12/2. Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is asked to contact police".
The statement added, "Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the tip line at 703-228-4180 or ACPDTipline@arlingtonva.us".
Later, the Police Department released another statement that said, "POLICE ACTIVITY: ACPD is in the 800 block of N. Burlington Street investigating a suspect who has discharged a flare gun from his residence. Expect continued police activity and avoid the area".
Additionally, the following statements were added, "UPDATE: As officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the residence, the suspect discharged several rounds inside the home. Subsequently, an explosion occurred at the residence and officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the explosion".
UPDATE: [Arlington Fire and EMS] is on scene working to extinguish the fire at the home. Media staging is in the 800 block of N. Edison Street.
UPDATE: Officers on scene reported minor injuries with no one transported to the hospital [Arlington Fire and EMS] continues to work to extinguish the fire."
