US Forces, including the USS Carney also engaged six Houthi drones over the Red Sea, 5 of which crashed into the Red Sea, one flew back into Yemen.

The merchant vessel issued a distress call but did not request assistance, according to U.S. Central Command, which reported that it suffered minimal damage and that an onboard fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.

There were no casualties reported as a result of the attack, and the vessel resumed its course. CENTCOM noted that the Houthis attacked the vessel despite the fact that they had previously said they would not target Chinese vessels.
