  • A coalition vessel intercepted one, US Central Command intercepted the second, and the third crashed into the Gulf of Aden, according to U.S. Central Command. Later on May 7th, the Houthis launched an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) over the Gulf of Aden.

  • Between May 6th and May 7th the Commander of U.S. Central Command General Michael Erik Kurilla visited Egypt in order to "gain a deeper understanding of the perspectives of Egyptian military leaders on regional security and the status of humanitarian aid". 

  • The United States repatriated 11 U.S. citizens from northeast Syria, including five minors in the largest single repatriation of U.S. citizens from northeast Syria to date.

  • The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the United Arab Emirates, and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (USMARCENT) launched Exercise NATIVE FURY 24 (NF 24) at a Saudi Naval Port on May 5, 2024.
