Israeli Military Announces Opening Of Gaza Erez Crossing, Updates On New Pier Being Built
The Erez Crossing located in the northern part of Gaza has been closed since it was destroyed by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7th of last year.
GAZA - Israel has announced the opening of the Erez Crossing for the transportation of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip for the first time since the crossing was destroyed by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7th of last year.
The Erez Crossing is the only crossing into the Gaza Strip from the northern end of the Strip and has been reopened as the United States, and international aid agencies continue to pressure Israel to allow more humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza.
According to Israeli media, the crossing is used primarily to allow pedestrian traffic into and out of the Gaza Strip and has been closed since the attack on October 7th destroyed the crossing and rendered it unusable.
The Israeli military also released a statement saying that the IDF is working closely with U.S. Central Command in preparing to receive a temporary floating pier and to organize the space for receiving humanitarian aid directly in Gaza.
