Japan Reports Chinese Vessels, Including Intelligence Gathering Ships Around Japanese Islands
Japanese Ministry of Defense: "On July 14th, it was confirmed that a Chinese navy Dongdiao-class intelligence-gathering ship was sailing northwest through the waters between the main island of Okinawa and Miyako Island toward the East China Sea. The Ministry of Defense and the Self-Defense Forces will continue to conduct warning surveillance and information gathering.
From July 16th to 17th, a total of six Chinese Navy Dongdiao-class information-gathering ships, two Luyang III-class missile destroyers, two Jiangkai II-class frigates, and one Huchi-class replenishment ship sailed northeast through the Tsushima Strait. It was confirmed that the ship was sailing toward the Sea of Japan. The Ministry of Defense and the Self-Defense Forces will continue to conduct warning surveillance and information gathering".
