Japan, South Korea Scramble Jets To Intercept Russian, Chinese Military Aircraft

TOKYO/SEOUL - Both the Japanese and South Korean military have reported scrambling jets to intercept Chinese and Russian military aircraft that entered South Korea's Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ) for around 20 minutes.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that there was "no invasion of airspace," and that the South Korean military identified the aircraft "before they entered KADIZ, and deployed air force fighter jets to take tactical measures in preparation for contingencies".
