North Korea Fires Multiple Ballistic Missiles As US, South Korea Carry Out Joint Annual Military Drills
Some analysts suggest this could be an attempt to gauge the new U.S. administration’s reaction, though no official statement from North Korea confirms this intent.
North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles into the Yellow Sea on March 10, 2025, on the same day the United States and South Korea began their 11-day annual joint military exercises.
These exercises, called "Freedom Shield," run through March 20 and aim to improve the allies' preparedness for potential threats. This year’s drills include 16 brigade-level field training events, an increase from 10 in the previous year.
