Offutt Air Force Base: Gate Runner Incident Put Base On Lockdown
Offutt AFB: "Shots were fired by defenders as the vehicle departed, which forced the base to lock down out of an abundance of caution".
Offutt Air Force Base In Nebraska: "There was an incident at the STRATCOM Gate tonight around 10 p.m. Out of an abundance of caution, the base was placed on lockdown.
Once the incident was cleared by our defenders, the lockdown was lifted around 10:30 p.m. The incident in currently under investigation".
Offutt Air Force Base is a U.S. Air Force base south of Omaha, adjacent to Bellevue in Sarpy County, Nebraska, and the headquarters of the U.S. Strategic Command.
