POLAND - The Polish military has reported an accident that occurred during “Operation Safe Podlasie” that resulted in shots fired near the Nowa Łuka (Podlaskie Voivodeship), according to a translated statement by the country’s Operational Command of the Armed Forces.
The statement said that “uncontrolled shots” were fired from a service weapon during the operation as weapons were being transferred. The incident resulted in one soldier being shot in the leg and was provided with first aid. A second soldier was also injured during the incident, according to the report.
