On January 30th the Maritime Security Center Horn of Africa (MSCHOA) reported two pirate actions groups likely operating in the Indian Ocean, with the first being 600 nautical miles south of Socotra, Yemen, and the second around 0034N 06129E.

Both Action Groups could include a "mothership" and a number of small crafts, according to a report by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
