Russian Ministry of Defense: Submarine cruiser Imperator Aleksandr III performs test launch of ballistic missile:

  • As part of the final stage of the state test program, new nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine cruiser Imperator Aleksandr III successfully carried out a test launch of the Bulava sea-based intercontinental ballistic missile from the White Sea at Kura Missile Test Range on the Kamchatka peninsula. 

  • The missile firing took place in the normal mode from an underwater position. The missile heads arrived at the designated area at the appointed time.

  • The ballistic missile firing is the final element of the state test program, after which a decision will be made on the cruiser's acceptance into the Navy.
