More Alerts On al-Shabaab Group

The al-Shabab is a Sunni Islamic organization that was declared a terrorist group by the United States in March of 2008. According to the United States National Counter-terrorism Center (NCTC), the group pledged their loyalty to the al-Qa‘ida terrorist organization in 2012.

Although the U.S. Government has yet to announce the killing of Maalim Ayman, US Africa Command did announce that they had carried out a joint strike with the government of Somalia on December 17th.

In 2020 the U.S. Department of State released a statement saying that its Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program administered by the Diplomatic Security Service had placed a reward on his head for $10 million for any information leading to his arrest or conviction.
