Explanation: Coronal Holes Located On The Sun

THE SUN - The latest snapshot of the sun by the Space Weather Prediction Center shows a large gaping hole in the sun, called a "Coronal hole". What Is A Coronal Hole? The National Centers for Environmental Information defines coronal holes as, "dark regions in the sun’s atmosphere detected by ultraviolet and X-ray imaging, are the source of high-speed solar wind streams.

"X1.8 and X1.7 flares from Region 3590 occurred at 21/2307 UTC and 22/0632 UTC. This region continues to exhibit strong magnetic complexity and is currently classified as a Beta-Gamma-Delta.

No apparent CME's resulting from these events have been observed as of the time of this writing."
