JAPAN - A tsunami warning has been lifted after a 6.8 earthquake hit Japan at a depth of 36 kilometers (22 miles deep), considered a shallow earthquake, according to the USGS. Japan’s meteorological agency reported that the tsunami warnings that were initially issued were lifted.
