EASTERN EUROPE — On June 3, 2025, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) conducted a significant operation targeting the Crimean Bridge, a critical infrastructure linking Russia to the annexed Crimean Peninsula.
The operation utilized an underwater explosion equivalent to 1,100 kg of TNT, severely damaging the bridge’s seabed supports.
This strike, the third since 2022, resulted in a state of emergency declaration for the bridge, though no civilian casualties were reported. Led by Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, the SBU aimed to disrupt Russian logistics, underscoring Ukraine’s ongoing resistance to occupation.
