A U.S. military aircraft fired precision munitions at the stern of the vessel, disabling it after forces directed the crew to abandon the targeted spaces. The ship had tried to depart regional waters after visiting an Iranian port.

Enforcement actions since July have redirected 147 commercial vessels that complied and disabled five merchant ships that refused to comply, U.S. Central Command said. The command has previously destroyed 10 Iranian commercial oil tankers it said were part of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps network.

Locations Affected

The incident occurred in the Gulf of Oman, approximately 18 nautical miles east of Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates, near coordinates 25.42 N, 56.70 E, an approximate position derived from commercial ship-tracking reports of the vessel at anchorage.

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Advisory 198-26, report date 07 November 2026, independently recorded an incident involving a bulk carrier and military forces at that approximate location.

Status of crew, damage assessment and environmental impact were unknown at the time of the UKMTO report. Authorities were aware and investigations remain ongoing.

The Gulf of Oman is a key maritime approach to the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of global oil exports transit.
