US Destroys 1 Houthi UAS, Jordan Hosts US Forces And Partner Nations For Premiere Exercise Eager Lion 24
CENTCOM: "It was determined the UAS presented an imminent threat to both coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region".
YEMEN - On May 12th U.S. forces "successfully destroyed" 1 uncrewed aerial system (UAS) launched by Houthi forces over the Gulf of Aden from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
U.S. Central Command reported, "It was determined the UAS presented an imminent threat to both coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region".
It added that there were injuries or damages reported by U.S., coalition or merchant vessels in the region after the attack took place.
Additionally, Exercise Eager Lion 24 officially began today (May 12th) with an opening ceremony held at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC), Amman, Jordan.
According to CENTCOM, "Eager Lion 24 is a multilateral exercise hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, designed to exchange military expertise, and improve interoperability among partner nations, and considered the capstone of a broader U.S. military relationship with the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)".
