US Destroys Ballistic Missile Likely Targeting US Vessel, Conducts Aid Airdrops Into Gaza
According to Central Command, to date the United States has dropped approximately 797 tons of humanitarian assistance supplies into Gaza.
RED SEA - On April 9th the USS Mason (DDG 87) and U.S. Central Command forces destroyed an inbound anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) launched by Iranian-backed Houthis from Yemen over the Gulf of Aden likely targeting an American vessel being escorted by the USS Laboon (DDG 58) and the USS Mason (DDG 87).
U.S. Central Command also conducted humanitarian aid airdrops into Northern Gaza during which 50,600 U.S. meal equivalents were dropped by four C-130 U.S. Air Force aircraft, and U.S. Army Soldiers specialized in aerial delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance supplies.
