The drone systems posed an imminent threat to US, coalition forces, and merchant vessels, according to U.S. Central Command, which said that the actions were taken to ensure freedom of navigation and safer international waters.

The United States also concluded the first “Paramount Cobra Exercise" with Pakistan, "aimed at refining drill procedures and sharing counter-terrorism experiences vital for countering perpetual terrorism threats".
