GULF OF ADEN - After the Arleigh Burke Class destroyer USS Mason Navy and a Japanese destroyer responded to a distress call from the Liberian-flagged cargo vessel carrying phosphoric acid in the Gulf of Aden, two ballistic missiles were reportedly fired at the USS Mason, but fell short, landing in the water without hitting their target.
