U.S. President Trump's Statements on Imminent Land Strikes in Venezuela and Latin America Amid Tanker Seizure for Drug Operations
This followed maritime strikes under Operation Southern Spear since September, which reduced sea trafficking by 92-96 percent according to the administration.
LATIN AMERICA — President Donald Trump stated during an Oval Office interaction that U.S. land strikes against drug operations in Latin America, including Venezuela, and even suggesting Columbia, and other countries making or selling drugs being trafficked to the United States would begin soon.
This followed maritime strikes under Operation Southern Spear since September, which reduced sea trafficking by 92-96 percent according to the administration.
Trump emphasized easier land targeting after water successes, extending warnings to Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro for alleged cartel aid.
The statements came a day after the U.S. unsealed a warrant for the M/T Skipper tanker seized off Venezuela on December 10, linked to funding terrorist networks.
