US Sending F-16s To Gulf Region To Protect Vessels From Iranian Seizures

The decision to send F-16s to the Gulf was made after Iran attempted the seizure of two oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz and opened fire on one of them.

WASHINGTON - The United States is sending F-16 fighter jets to the Gulf in order to protect vessels in the region from Iranian seizures. 

The deployment will augment the A-10 attack aircraft currently patrolling the Gulf region for the last week.
