US Warships In Red Sea Moving Toward Israel/Lebanon

The USS Bataan will be entering the Eastern Mediterranean soon as it heads toward Israel/Lebanon and is currently in the Red Sea.

RED SEA - Despite some media reports saying that the USS Bataan is being moved to the Eastern Mediterranean, a Senior US defense official says that the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is with the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hull, and the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock Mesa Verde in the Red Sea, but that it will be entering the eastern Mediterranean soon as it continues to move toward Israel and Lebanon.

The Ready Group would be capable of carrying out evacuation operations if the US decided to make such a move.
