34 Chinese Military Aircraft, 16 PLAN Vessels Spotted Around Taiwan December 12th, 2024

The Chinese military released a statement Wednesday stating that Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te's "stopover" in the US was, "in nature, soliciting external support to seek Taiwan independence".

The number of Chinese military aircraft and naval forces spotted around the island remains greatly heightened amid rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Chinese military released a statement Wednesday stating that Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te's "stopover" in the United States was, "in nature, soliciting external support to seek Taiwan independence."

On December 12th the Chinese military posted a memo, along with a statement that said, "According to a written notice released by China's Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, military exercises are being conducted in a circular area in the South China Sea, with a radius of 6 nautical miles, centering on 19-36.87N 110-57.07E, from December 16 to 18, 18:00 to 20:00 daily. During this period, unrelated ships are banned from entering."
