Finnish Defense Forces Enhance Surveillance and Response Capabilities After Reports of Drones Potentially Straying Into Finland

FINLAND — The Finnish Defense Forces immediately enhanced their own surveillance and response capabilities after receiving information early in the morning on Friday, May 15, about drones possibly straying into Finland.
The Defense Forces have responded to the situation and increased their preparedness. The measures included, among other things, increasing the number of air surveillance personnel, increasing the efficiency of fighter jets by adjusting the duty location, time and take-off readiness of armed fighter jets on operational alert, and increasing the efficiency of the use of Army helicopters and Navy vessels.
