Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke to reporters and said that the time between the issued evacuation orders and attacks on the cities is too short, and added, “Each evacuation order profoundly disrupts people's lives. People have been forced to move into areas with little or no infrastructure – where there is very limited access to shelter, health, sanitation or other life-saving humanitarian assistance”.

Israel declared war on the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7th, 2023 shortly after its members infiltrated Israel and took around 250 people hostage, 120 of which are still being held in Gaza by the organization, with a third of them believed to be dead, according to Israeli officials.
