South Korea Scrambles Jets In Response to Chinese and Russian Aircraft Incursion into its ADIZ
The incursion involved seven Russian military aircraft and two Chinese military aircraft, which entered South Korea’s eastern and southern Air Defense Identification Zones successively.
EAST ASIA — South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that nine military aircraft from China and Russia entered the country’s Air Defense Identification Zone over the eastern and southern seas before departing without incident.
The aircraft, consisting of bombers and fighters, were involved in a joint exercise between the two nations. South Korean forces scrambled fighter jets as a precautionary measure to monitor the situation and prevent potential escalations.
