SAUDI ARABIA - A merchant vessel has reported a "significant explosion" a short distance away from the port side of the vessel 50 nautical miles southwest of Al Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an inspection found no damage to the vessel, and the crew was safe after the attack. The vessel is continuing to its next port of call.

The UKMTO added vessels in the region are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
